Event Details

AngularJS is an open-source framework (developed by Google) for developing client-side Web applications. Its expressive syntax and simple integration with HTML makes it readable, quick to develop, and easy to maintain. Its support of common architectural patterns encourages encapsulation and loose coupling, making it easy to create clean and well-factored code.

This course provides a quick start to building Web applications with AngularJS. The course assumes you know basic HTML and CSS, and you have a working knowledge of JavaScript. There are a number of tutorials available; HTML5Rocks is one.

The course begins with a gentle, acronym-free overview of Angular, its purpose and benefits. Along the way you will learn how to incorporate basic Angular features such as directives, expressions, filters, and data binding into a basic Web page.

The course then dives into the concepts and techniques you need to know to build a client-side Web application. In small and deliberate steps, you will learn how to create multiple pages (or views) and how to make them look great using Bootstrap. You will see how to build the controllers to manage those views and the routing required to switch between the views. And you will learn how to use Angular to call an Application Programming Interface (API) to obtain data from a server.

Finally, the course will cover tips and traps you need to know to use AngularJS effectively. Developing with AngularJS can be fun and quick, as long as you avoid some of the common pit falls.
