The Data Science Camp event is at eBay in North San Jose, October 25 from 9am to 6pm. From 9-11am, there is a $40 tutorial on Principal Component Analysis with Applications in R and Python from Dr. Kukuyeva. At 11:25am, we have our keynote presentation, An Update on Distributed Computing with Spark from Reza Zedeh. Our main room can seat 410 people. At 12:25, we start the session proposals and assigning sessions to time slots and rooms. After lunch, we have our four 50 minute sessions, starting at 2, 3, 4 and 5pm. During each time slot, we can make use of 8 concurrent rooms.
We have held DataMiningCamps since 2009. This year, we were renaming it to “DataScienceCamp” to be more inclusive of Big Data & Data Mining. The event is organized by the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the ACM, or Association of Computing Machinery – the professional society of Computer Science. SFbayACM has been continuously running events since 1957.
