Data Science SIG (seeking speaker)
July 25, 2017 @ 6:30 pm
NOTE: this meeting is on TUE, 7/25, because of the location availability.
We are seeking talk Data Science SIG talk proposals (generally for the 4th Monday of the month).
We are seeking General Computing talk proposals (generally the 3rd Wed of the month).
We typically have 100-150 people attend. We generally meet on the 4th Monday of the month. We seek talks that you might see at Strata or a data mining conference. Search for SFbayACM to find our YouTube channel with 100+ past talks.
If you would like to submit a talk proposal, provide the following:
* 3 available dates (i.e. DS on Tue 7/25, Mon 8/28, Mon 9/25, Mon 11/27, Mon 1/22) .. (or General Computing on Wed 10/18, Wed 11/15, Wed 1/17).
* speaker name, phone, email, LinkedIn (or pic)
* talk title
* talk description
* speaker bio
On the left side of the meetup page, in the “Organizers:” box, there is a “Contact” button you can use for the submission.
You can also contact me about sponsorship opportunities for our 501c(3) non-profit organization. We are run by unpaid volunteers. If you provide financial sponsorship, sponsor food or the video recording for a night or talk series, we can offer either a) “thank the sponsor” time to address the event audience during the “upcoming events” period (7:00 – 7:10) or b) opt-in registration information of the attendees or c) “thank the sponsor” branding on the video, posted on our Youtube video channel of our talks, or d) a banner in our monthly email newsletter to 5k opt-in bay area computing professionals or a section of our print newsletter to members only or e) a “thank you for the donation letter with our 501c(3) non-profit tax ID” for your tax deduction or f) make a suggestion and we can see what we can do, constrained by our volunteer effort and non-profit status.
Audience members, you are welcome to RSVP to come to an event before we have the speaker posted. Once we get the speaker, info will be updated here. You can always un-RSVP.
Thanks, Greg Makowski, Data Science SIG Co-Chair and Business Development Lead
